2017 De Lisio Sangiovese

This new addition to the range is the product of five years of experimentation with the delicate and unique flavours and characteristics of the Sangiovese grape.
Pursued with a determination to bottle the effortlessly classic Tuscan lifestyle and reflect the variety’s Chianti style and flavour profiles, the De Lisio Sangiovese is a truly modern wine which leaves you comforted, satisfied, yet wanting more.
A ‘pretty, bright and wine-coloured’ wine greets you in a glass of the De Lisio Sangiovese according to Assistant Winemaker Anthony Jnr. so you know to expect nothing but the pure simple enjoyment of a classic Chianti-style red. You’ll find slightly smudged lead pencil on the nose, as well as cherry and vanilla as the wine warms and opens.
The velvet tannins seductively guide you through the subtle flavours of liquorice, anise, lightly smoked cheese and strawberry. However, when you step back and enjoy the mouthwatering finish you’ll find the overall softness, and lightly sweet tartness of a Cherry RipeTM.
You’ll also find the characteristic copper and ironstone of Sangiovese, while the even heat and long ripening period of the Adelaide Hills has given this wine balanced acidity.
